Bluegrass and Beyond
8:00 PM Friday, Oct 12, 2012. Diana Wortham Theatre
BE ASTOUNDED by this knock-out performer. From Bonnaroo to "Prairie Home Companion," Kittel is foremost among a new breed of fiddlers and violinists who easily navigate a multitude of musical styles and traditions. Kittel has a master's degree in jazz violin, was a violinist for the Grammy-winning classical favorite Turtle Island String Quartet, and has branched out into bluegrass and beyond to perform with musical giants such as Mark O'Connor, Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, Chris Thile, Darol Anger, and alt-rock band My Morning Jacket. Kittel will be accompanied by his hand-picked band of dynamic young performers on mandolin, cello and more.
