Policies and FAQs
Severe Weather Policy
If severe weather on a Saturday prohibits the holding of Super Saturday classes, an announcement will be made by 7:00am on Saturday on the UNC Asheville Super Saturday website and on the Super Saturday phone line at 828.251.6558. If classes are canceled, the November 16 make-up day will be used.
Public School “Saturday School” Make-up Day Policy
If public school “Saturday school” days are scheduled and affect a majority of enrolled Super Saturday students, an announcement will be made by Friday afternoon on the UNC Asheville Super Saturday website and on the Super Saturday phone line at 828.251.6558. We will have a 5-hour delay in the start of Super Saturday classes on public school “Saturday school” make-up days. We will use the following schedule:
Session 1: 2:00pm-3:20pm
Session 2: 3:30pm-4:50pm
Refund Policy
A $15 cancellation/processing fee (per student) will be deducted from all refunds until end of day on September 29. No refunds will be issued after September 29. Materials fees are non-refundable.
Late Registration Policy
Late registration will be available in-person on the first day of Super Saturday at the Information Desk in Carmichael Hall. A $15 late registration fee (per student) will be added. Late registration may be paid using cash, check, money order, Visa, or MasterCard. If registering late, please arrive about 30 minutes before the first class.
Classrooms and Arrival
- Classroom locations (building and room number) will be emailed to you the week that Super Saturday begins. It will be sent to the email address that you provide during registration. Check-in upon arrival is not required, and you may take your child directly to their classes.
- The first day of Super Saturday is always busy, so please arrive early to find your classroom and pay the materials fee to the instructor. Materials fees can be paid with cash or check.
- We ask that you not attend class with your children unless you are volunteering. Some teachers invite parents to their last class for a recital or presentation and will notify you via email or a flyer sent home with the student.
- UNC Asheville staff do not escort children between classes; however, the buildings used are close to one another. Super Saturday Information Desks and staff are located in each building where classes take place. If you are not comfortable with your child changing classes without an escort, please plan to stay on campus.
Directions, Parking, and Campus Map
To find us, see our driving directions and campus map. A parking permit is not required at UNC Asheville on Saturdays, and you may park anywhere on campus. There are usually several parking spaces available on weekends, so you should be able to find a spot near your child's first class.
Media Policy
Photos, videos, sound recordings, or interviews with participants may be conducted by employees, agents, representatives of UNC Asheville, or the external news media, which will be used in connection with the university's dissemination of information to the public on its academic and public service programs. These images may appear in a variety of formats and media now available, including but not limited to print, broadcast, videotape, CD ROM, and electronic/online media.
