Bolokada Conde is a Master Djembefola (master drummer), expert of Malinke Rhythms and one of the world’s best djembe players. Bolokada was a young musical prodigy who became a sensation in the Sankaran region of Guinea, West Africa. As a master folklorist, he became the premier djembe player in all the major village celebrations in the region for many years. Join Bolokada Conde and local drummers and dancers for an evening of high energy rhythms. Bolokada is the headliner for UNC Asheville's Arts Fest 2015. Bolokada, Billy Zanski of Skinny Beats drum shop, Ivorian dancer Barakissa Coulibaly and Mosso-Kan West African Drummers and Dance Group, local drummers, dancers and the UNC Asheville African Drum Ensemble will be performing together - be sure not to miss this high energy event!

Free Drum Circle/ Workshop with Bolokada Conde and Skinny Beats

Join Bolokada and Skinny Beats drum shop for a drum circle and workshop on the quad on Saturday, April 11th at 12pm. Free and open to the public.

PLEASE NOTE: This performance is likely to have audiences up on their feet and dancing. Patrons who will be sensitive to this are encouraged to follow usher guidelines for seating. Dancers, please be considerate of those around you and make sure not to block the view of other audience members.
